The Australian food scene is remarkable, and Melbourne should be on anyone’s list of cities to dine in. I love it. It is exciting, cultural, vibrant, and has a fantastic diversity of restaurants.
At some point during our quest to eat all the avocado toast in the tri-state area, we noticed a smaller trend of sunny, casual, and fresh food-forward restaurants and cafés that all happened to be Australian.
We were excited by the reborn Africola, in Adelaide, too: a great example of what a single-minded chef — in charge — can achieve. And in Perth, Wildflower came on stream with truly inspired contemporary food inspired by the West.
